Strategic Relations Associate : Anshul Bhatnagar

Name: Anshul Bhatnagar

Hi Anshul, could you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Enhesa?

I am a strategic relations associate at Enhesa. I support and lead implementation processes with our platform partners. I am currently based out of the Enhesa office in Toronto, Canada; which opened recently in October 2018.  

My role involves talking to clients, partners and the Enhesa team. My education in both computer engineering and environmental science gives me the background to analyze the tasks and propose solutions by utilizing my background.

What is your academic and professional background?

I hold a MSc in Sustainability Management from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and I am a certified PRINCE2 (Project Management) Practitioner from AXELOS, UK. I have seven years of combined experience in IT and sustainability and corporate social responsibility which I gained while working with private, government and not-for-profit organizations.

My educational background in both environmental science and computer engineering is what piqued my interest in the EHS industry.

When did you join Enhesa?

I joined Enhesa in September 2017 as a strategic relations associate as a part of the platform integration team. I first reported to our office in D.C; I am now based in Toronto.

What attracted you to work for Enhesa?

There were two things which struck me and made interested in being a part of this truly global multinational company. Firstly, the role and responsibility of my profile complemented my academic and professional experience. I knew this was the only company I came across that would allow me to utilize my environmental science and computer engineering background at the same time.

Secondly, prior to my first interview, I searched LinkedIn to find out about the employees and general company. I was in awe when I saw employees working from so many different corners of the world—from Japan, China, Israel, Trinidad, etc. When I was told that my role would involve having in communication with all these experts globally, I knew that this is the company I would like to work for. This still holds true!

What languages do you speak?

Hindi is my native language. Apart from that, I speak and understand three other international languages: English, Spanish, Urdu and three regional languages/dialects Marwari, Hadoti, and Khariboli.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy playing racket sports. I represented my university, college and my province in table tennis and badminton.

Apart from sports, I like to travel to places that are still untouched by the environment degradation. I have traveled to places such as Mongolia, Uzbekistan, inner parts of Bulgaria, El Salvador and many other untouched places.

Also, in my free time, I enjoy writing fiction stories and poems.

What EHS topics are you most passionate about?

I am passionate about learning new technological developments in the field of EHS such as wearables and artificial intelligence. From the environmental perspective, I am most passionate about interpreting the uncertainties around climate change adaptation, resilience and planning. I also keep myself involved in knowing and learning about the issues surrounding carbon tax, carbon trading, and carbon pricing by attending different conferences, talks, and webinars.

What Does a Day in the Life of a Strategic Relations Associate Look Like?

My role involves interacting with our clients on various platforms and the platform partners where clients access our content.

My day is comprised of working with various teams within Enhesa—supporting the sales team for pre-sales demos and post-sales support, providing insights to the account management team around renewals, working with the IT team to discuss and solve the reported issues and working with contract management, quality and ESS teams to provide clients and partners with optimal support and assistance.

What is your favorite aspect of working at Enhesa?

Without a doubt, the answer is “the people.” The opportunity to interact and meet people from different expertise, origins and locations make Enhesa a unique company.  Enhesa is no doubt the most multicultural company I have ever worked for.
