# Packaging Plus

Access extended packaging coverage from the team at Chemical Watch News & Insight.

Consumer concern over the impact of packaging waste on the environment has helped drive a swift increase in regulatory action across the globe. At the same time, the scope of these actions has broadened as regulators seek to cut excessive packaging while expanding use of recycled materials.

## Meeting the needs for packaging regulations

Unfortunately for business, the resulting rapid growth in packaging regulation has not been matched by a uniformity of approach across different regions of the world. This has made the task of complying ever more complex and the need for intelligence on upcoming regulatory developments that impact packaging ever more critical.

To help meet that need, the team at [Chemical Watch News & Insight](https://www.enhesa.com/product-intelligence/our-solutions/chemical-watch-news-insight/)
has added packaging regulation to its watch list by creating a packaging desk to provide coverage of top-level regulatory developments across the globe.

## Extended coverage of packaging topics

Chemical Watch News & Insight already covers regulatory developments concerning chemicals in packaging, including aspects related to food contact materials and extended producer responsibility (EPR). Launched in May 2025, the packaging desk extended that coverage to include the key aspects of regulation along the entire ‘cradle to grave’ lifecycle of packaging.

Our coverage at this stage is focussing on the major developments in packaging regulations, in order to provide a high-level overview of the big trends in this fast-moving area. It is the first step towards the development of a larger, more in-depth, packaging regulatory news service that will be delivered independently from Chemical Watch News & Insight.
