Nyimas Yaumil Isti Arief is an accomplished biomedical engineer and associate toxicologist at Enhesa, where she brings her scientific and engineering expertise to advancing sustainable chemistry.
She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and has a strong background in biology, chemistry, and data analysis. At Enhesa, Isti’s key projects include reviewing applications for Screened Chemistry certification and Environmental Impact Measurement (EIM) scores, helping companies adopt safer chemistry practices in the textile industry. Her role includes client interfacing, ensuring that users of SciveraLENS software meet certification and scoring standards. She has expertise in modeling and chemical hazard assessment (CHA) and contributes to expanding Enhesa’s CHA database.
Before joining Enhesa, Isti held various research roles, including as a student investigator in human subject research at VCU Health, where she led IRB-approved studies aimed at improving care for mechanically ventilated patients. She also chaired the Science Department at Tawheed Prep School, where she developed science curricula for college preparatory students.
With a commitment to environmental sustainability and safety, Isti continues to make a meaningful impact in sustainable chemistry and toxicology.
She is fluent in English and Indonesian and holds a second-degree black belt in Olympic Tae Kwon Do.
