Additionally, the Commission is planning to propose changes to the Cosmetics Products Regulation (CPR) to align with industry obligations.
In North America, regulatory uncertainty is infiltrating various policies, such as PFAS and TSCA. While the United States’ Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) remains focused on paving the way ahead for TSCA’s chemicals programme, its scientific policies have come under scrutiny in recent debates over the TSCA methylene chloride rude. Further, changes to Illinois’ PFAS bill reflects the growing concern over the safety of fluoropolymers.
And in Asia-Pacific, Vietnam is propelling regulatory efforts on chemicals management in its products. Just recently, Vietnam’s National Assembly adopted a long-anticipated revision of the Law on Chemicals, to take effect in January 2026. Vietnam’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has also released a draft decree proposing changes to the cosmetics regulatory framework from July 2026. Meanwhile, China’s National People’s Congress (NPC) awaits comments from its public consultation on the draft Law on the Safety of Hazardous Chemicals.
